ESG Investment Strategy of SBI Investment Co. Ltd.
ESG is an abbreviation for the environmental and social governance, and refers to all activities related to the structure of the environmental and social governance arising from the process of corporate and investment management. Recently, many companies introduced the ESG management into their own management not only to enhance shareholder value, which is the conventional corporate goal, but also to achieve common interests of employees, the social community, partner companies and other stakeholders. Particularly as we experienced the global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, ESG has become the most important factor for sustainable management. SBI Investment Co. Ltd. was listed in the KOSDAQ market in 1989, the first for a venture capital firm in Korea, and established the governance structure at a high level. We manage many funds with goals of cultivating companies outside of the Seoul metropolis, creating jobs, energy innovation etc., and made efforts for social responsibilities. With the global trend of the ESG management, our officers and employees built more systematic measures of ESG management to become a company more trusted by stakeholders, and are responding.
